India Birthright is a transformative cultural, educational, and spiritual program designed specifically for Overseas Indian teenagers aged 14-17. It offers an immersive journey through India's diverse heritage, combining hands-on learning, community engagement, and spiritual exploration.
India Birthright emphasizes experiential learning, cultural immersion, and personal growth. Participants engage in service-learning projects, connect with their heritage, and develop essential life skills in a structured, safe, and transformative environment.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of India’s traditions, history, and spiritual practices while developing critical thinking, adaptability, leadership, and teamwork skills. The program also provides opportunities for personal reflection and growth.
Safety is a top priority. Our protocols include the PIES Safety Model (Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Social well-being), international risk management standards, and comprehensive child protection measures. The group is accompanied 24/7 by one male and one female instructor, both certified Wilderness First Responders with extensive risk management training.
Participants stay in secure, comfortable accommodations, with 2-3 same-gender participants sharing rooms. Meals are hygienically prepared and cater to diverse dietary preferences while offering culturally enriching options.
Instructors are trained in emergency response, and we have clear protocols for medical situations. Parents are promptly informed if any significant issues arise, and local healthcare facilities are pre-verified for quality care.
Participants must meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria (EEC), including emotional and social readiness, physical capability, and openness to cultural, philosophical, and spiritual experiences. These criteria ensure a safe and enriching environment for all.
Interested participants must submit an online application, which includes questions about their motivation for joining and their understanding of Indian culture. Families are also required to complete Liability Waiver forms and make a deposit of $700 to reserve a seat. However, the seat is not guaranteed until the participant's medical history has been reviewed by our team. Eligibility is finalized after the interview and approval by the team. Upon full payment of the program fee, the seat will be confirmed.
